Perfect Size For TubPros: Sturdy, easy to assemble, easy to rotate, fits in standard tub and fit in walk in shower. Negative: may be transferring onto it. We used this due to a sports injury to leg that required non weight bearing. Had upper body strength to use arms to stand on one leg at tub, use arm handles to slowly sit down. Needed to put equal amount of weight on both arms to transfer/sit so it didn't tilt. It worked perfectly for our needs.

Caregivers DreamSwivel chair made it possible to get patient into and out of shower without straining or falling. Although our shower could accommodate two people once in the shower, getting patient (who could barely stand) into and out of shower was problematic and using a simple shower bench with no armrest or pivot resulted in a tip-over fall and a caregiver (my wife) back sprain. This chair solved that problem and was absolutely worth buying. We now have a hospice aid doing this and they and the patient were very happy with how well this worked.

Best Shower Chair I Have Found! Sturdy, Safe And Easy To Assemble.I ordered this for my 91 year old Father in law. The previous chair I ordered was not sturdy and we needed to replace it ASAP. I ordered this chair and I can wholeheartedly tell you that it is SAFE, and will help make showering a good thing. Not at all wobbly, very sturdy and easy to use and put together. There is a pull out handle on the one side of the seat. You can pull out to rotate the chair. It will then lock into the next position. The arm height is perfect to help getting up from a seated position. The chair height is adjustable. I've taken a photo to show the set up in my shower for my 88 and 91 year old in laws who are staying with us. He needs the chair and she uses the bars to stand. I have ordered a bunch of medical type aides, as you can see in the photo. Highly recommend this chair. It's worth every penny! Don't skimp on safety! :

Best One I Have Found For The MoneyEarlier I bought I much less expensive shower chair that swiveled from the top, rather than under the seat as this one does. I thought at the time it was inevitable that it would pinch my skin during the swivel. It never did, though I only used it once before returning it. Though I initially resisted spending the money for this one, it was worth the investment. Not only did I get a backrest, which is a big plus, but it is much sturdier and swivels under the seat, eliminating the risk of pinching my skin. I'm quite happy with the purchase and found it to be far superior to the one I returned.

The Only One That WorkedI had tried several other seat risers for my wife post hip replacement surgery. Luckily I got prepared early! This one was the only one that didn't come off or tip over if a little more weight was placed on one side than the other. The support is the floor and the fact that the handles/legs fit through the housing means they don't splay out and get rickety when sitting or standing.

Minus 1 Star For Quality Control But Good Customer ServiceI have to agree with the other reviews that criticized the quality control, but I contacted the company and got very prompt satisfaction. The first chair that we got was defective. One of the holes that locked in the legs was out of alignment making it impossible to push the leg into the socket far enough for it to latch. I called the number on the instruction booklet, but it turned out to be the Canadian office. They gave me the number for the US office. I called them and described the issue. The immediately sent us a new chair. The told us not to worry about returning the defective chair, to keep it for spare parts. The second chair worked fine. It replaced another chair that we had which was uncomfortably narrow between the arms for my wife. As for the criticism that the chairs can tip sideways, I question whether they were being positioned correctly. I noticed that the legs are wider in one direction than in the other. If the user had the narrow spread positioned across the front and back, I could see the possibility of the chair tipping. But if the wider spread was positioned across the front and back, the base is more solid and less apt to tip. We haven't had any problem.

Great Shower Chair, But!HANDICAPPED and DISABILED beware; Once assembled, this chair is neat! BUT, the manufacturer left pieces of molding plastic in the pipes, making the chair SIGNIFICANTLY hard to assemble. You need brute strength, silicone spray, a knife tool and perhaps a mallot. If you don’t have a strong, experienced in-law or friend you can call on, spring for the extra bucks for it to be professionally assembled. My 70 year old handicapped husband is luckily handy and could do the assembly, it was a hassle. (he is currently sitting in a lounger with a heating pad on a shoulder!) Also, we could tell from the wrapping, it was a return, no joking. THE MANUFACTURER DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM, JUST SENT IT BACK OUT (probably in the hope that another sucker would figure it out!) Once PROPERLY assembled, the chair seems strong, sturdy and convenient! Keep in mind: the little pull out handle, while easy to use, sticks out about 4” or so. Make allowance in your measurements!

Great Solution For Someone Who Can't Step Over The Edge Of A BathtubI bought this for my 79 yr old mom who was visiting for an extended period. She has limited ability to step up and is accustomed to a walk in shower. Since our guest bath has a tub, we needed an assistive device. The standard shower seat did not work well as it didn't allow her to pivot from outside to inside the tub. This swivel seat was the perfect solution! The tension on the release handle is loose enough for her to operate solo but catches well to keep the seat stable in each position. We have it set so it straddles the edge of the tub. My only complaint is that the adjustable legs need to have the adjustments a bit closer together. Our tub has a slight incline inside (as most do) and the chair wobbles a bit. We put a towel over the edge of the tub under the chair (so it the legs won't scratch the tub) and push it right up against the tub which helps. Mom really likes that there are 2 arms for support sitting and standing. Overall a great solution.

This Is The Sturdiest And Most Versatile Shower Seat!I’ve had several shower seats over the years, and they met my needs at the time but were nothing special (no arms or backs, and certainly no swivel seats). As my physical condition has declined, it is now too unsafe for me to try to step over the tub to get in the shower. My bathroom is too small for a sliding bench type of seat, so I started looking for alternatives. When I found the MOBB Premium Bathroom Swivel Chair, it appeared to be the perfect solution except for its high price. After reading the reviews, I decided to go ahead and get it despite the price. When this chair arrived from Amazon I was pleasantly surprised at the easiness of the assembly. Typically I have to have help putting anything together. I had read the instructions described on Amazon before ordering and it looked simple enough, but I knew from past experiences that reading instructions and actually doing it could be very different. This wasn’t and I was able to put the chair together in just a few minutes! The only issue I had was when I was getting the legs to slide into the proper attachment to the seat and lock into place. I just didn’t have the strength to do it fully so I did what I could then had a neighbor complete it by pushing the legs in until they locked into place. It took about 2 minutes! Once the chair was in the bathtub (just a standard tub with stationary plus separate handheld showerhead), I tried swiveling the seat and it all worked just fine, but the swivel knob stuck out so far that it almost touched the back wall. I was afraid of possibly having a problem with not enough clearance space to swivel all the way around without the knob bumping the wall so I took off the armrest on one side, and that gave the little extra space needed. I can always put the armrest back on if needed. I would like to see just one adjustment: a few extra holes on the legs so that the unit could sit a bit lower if needed. Otherwise, this seat is near perfect and miles better than any others I’ve seen. Being able to sit on the chair with my legs outside the tub then swiveling around to get in the tub is so much safer than trying to step over the tub, risking a fall. Once in the shower, the seat is so comfortable with its cushioned non-slip surface. I now can take a leisurely shower by myself and not worry about falling. The sturdiness, high quality, and versatility of the MOBB Premium Bathroom Swivel Seat definitely justifies its higher price and makes it one of my best purchases on Amazon!

If Your Shower Surround Has A Protruding Soap Dish...Do not attach the arm rest closest to the wall because it will block the chair from turning. When I bought this chair, I lived in an apartment with a molded plastic tub surround. The soap dish was in the corner. The chair was perfect since I no longer had to cling to the towel bar to get out of the tub. Then I moved. The new bathroom has ceramic tile with a protruding soap dish, so the chair wouldn't turn all the way and I had to set the chair so far to the rear of the tub that it was dangerously inconvenient. THEN I remembered that all I had to do was remove the arms to allow the chair to turn freely. What I had thought was an expensive mistake was simply a brain fart on my part!

Good Design Elements But Can Still Tip Over In A TransferThe surface is a great improvement to most shower designs. (I was using towels to prevent sitting on a cold hard surface.) The swivel feature is easy to use and would have some merit in a variety of shower/bathtub situations. It is easy to assemble. Obviously, it's pricey. My pet peeve, though, is all the shower chairs tip over with any lateral force. They are okay for sitting down if tired and reaching for both arms at the same time. However, if you reach for one arm at a time, as during a wheelchair transfer, the patient is grabbing for something that tips over. The chair needs to be heavier or to have a wider base. A rectangular base would work for this design since the chair will swivel. Just call me an old engineer worried about handicapped people.

Sturdy Well Made Shower ChairI researched quite a bit before buying this chair & read many reviews. I would say this was a great choice. It is much sturdier than the chair we had before & the swivel feature really is a big plus. My father is disabled and cannot walk at all. I have to lift him up to put him on the toilet & into the shower so this chair really does help quite a bit. I have read all the reviews regarding this chair & the only negative thing I could think of if you’re considering getting this is that the seat is not really wide. A really large person may have difficulty fitting in it. My father is 6’2” tall & weighs around 170 and he fits in the chair perfectly with the side handles in. I think this chair was a good value for the price. I hope this review helps.

Assess The User Ability To Participate FirstBest feature is the 360 degree-turns and lock feature every 90 degrees. The seating material is good as it doesn't easily stain and doesn't promote slipping off the seat. However, turning needs to be gentle as it can easily turn over when set off balance. This happened when my dad was sitting on it and he is totally dependent. Good thing he did not hit his head. It also requires scooting to the edge of the chair as it is far from the tub edge. Not the best feature when the person needs max assist in transfers. Consider getting the one that extends out of the tub instead.

This Is Absolutely The Best Shower Chair On The Market!This chair is very sturdy and very well made and has a high comfortable back and comfortable seat. The great advantage is the swivel feature. My 94 year-old Mom is recovering from hip replacement surgery and this chair is perfect for her. I have her sit in the chair with her back to the tub with the chair in the tub which is a standard size tub. Then I pull out the lever while she or I lift her legs over the side of the tub as I swivel her sideways. Once she is facing the shower the chair locks firmly in place - absolutely no slipping. I also ordered the Aqua Sense shower head attachment which was advertised along with this chair on Amazon for about $20 and it is the perfect solution for us. It can hang on the clip above the showerhead and it is so easy to hold in my hand to help with bathing and washing her hair; She would not be able to do this without the chair and showerhead attachment with the very long hose with a very long reach which never tangles up. It also has a feature to turn off the water from the hose until ready to rinse. I place a bath towel on the chair seat for comfort and remove to hang to dry afterward.

Nice Chair But I Found The Following Could Be ImprovedNice chair but I found the following could be improved. The cushing on the seat is nice until you get up and stick to the seat, which when pushing to up causes the chair to move. It could also use one more hole to adjust legs, I'm 5'3" and my feet dangle causing discomfort. The handles for the arms I wish could be adjustable. There is very little room between handles and if you are at the top of the weight limit I don't think it would give you any room. I know they can be left off but then you take from the safety.

Carefully Check Specs Of Tub And Chair. If You Have A Right Or Left Shower, Makes A Differnce.The prce was good compared to other models. It was easy to put together and comfortable to sit on. i measured our tub and compared to specs, but it barelly fit in. I had to take off the right hand handle to get the seat to rotate. I do have a built in soap dish that extends about 2 inches. The locking handle since it is on the right/inside of the tub also has barely enough room to unlock and turn. My husband is 5 foot 6 inches and the legs at their lowest are too high for him to get on comfortably.

Very Stable And Easy To Use!!I feel very stable and safe in this chair due to the wide-splayed legs, sturdy high back and armrests, especially while swiveling. And the swivel makes it super-easy to get in and out of the shower stall, as well as to rinse on all sides. The leg height can be adjusted during assembly or by lying the chair on its side. If I hadn't found this chair I would have had to consider paying for an expensive walk-in tub. I use this chair in a shower stall that had replaced a bathtub, so the stall has a rectangular footprint and a flat floor - I have not used it in a tub. In order to provide more elbow room for swiveling we removed the sliding glass door panels from the shower stall - the model I have unhook quite easily - but left the door frame up, and added a shower curtain on a simple tension rod. These were all simple changes that required no alterations to the permanently mounted fixtures, and are easily reversible.

Fantastic ChairI bought a MOBB shower chair several years ago directly from Canada. Increasing age (I'm in my 90th year) and various physical issues have rendered me quite disabled. Nonetheless, I still live independently and it's products such as the MOBB chair that make that possible. I would not be able to take a shower unless I had this chair always available in my step-in shower. I can sit in the chair before entering the shower, swivel around and easily take a shower without fear of falling, and then swivel around to exit the shower.

Definitely Worth The Money!It was tough to get myself to spend the money for this chair. But I needed one that was higher than most so I got it. I'm glad I did! I have a different shower chair that I used for a prior injury. But after having hip reconstruction surgery I needed a taller chair because I couldn't sit low, and I wanted one with high arms to help me sit and stand. The swivel feature was not something I was specifically looking for, but I sure am glad I have that feature also. This chair is extremely stable, so easy to get in and out of, and easy to swivel. The feet suction to my solid surface shower stall but move easily when needed. Everything about this chair is great. It was easy enough for my husband to assemble. It is plenty tall enough for my need. I don't even have it as tall as it could go. I'm so glad I forced myself to buy this chair! I've used it for five weeks now and every day I've said I'm happy I got it.

Be Aware This Is Not ReturnableI'd give it 5 stars if not for the foam coming partly off the seat back after the first shower. It works very well, swivel is smooth and chair is sturdy, simple to put together too. Had some difficulty getting 2 of the legs to fit because rubber edging was too thick, preventing any of the 4 legs from fitting into the sections where they lock into the seat. Be sure to measure carefully before ordering as it is not returnable.

This Is An Excellent Shower Chair For A Small PersonThis is an excellent shower chair for a small person. I purchased this for my mother-in-law and she is a large person. I love that it swivels all the way around and it is very comfortable for a petite person. They legs are too close together and there is a very great risk of it tipping over. They really should manufacture a model intended for taller heavier folks. I would have willing paid more for a larger, studier chair. Also could not return it once the package was opened and how do you know it is too small unless you actually see it? Otherwise a great concept. The chair was easy to assemble and as I said before it was good quality, just too small for us.

With this, all I have to do a swivel it so that the chair is facing the outside of the tub, back up into it and sit down. Then I swivel it around and get my feet into the tub while I'm doing that. So much safer!

This Chair Is Great. We Needed It For My Elderly MomThis chair is great. We needed it for my elderly mom. With this chair, she does not lean to the side or backwards and the swivel is great. It is a great product and very easy to assemble. Well worth the money!

Try The Luxury Of A Turnable Shower Chair.Up until now, I would transfer from my wheelchair to a fixed shower chair. my back was toward the shower spray. Now, I can swivel around to any of 360* and enjoy a shower again. When done, I can turn so that I am facing the shower door and exit more safely. MOBB, thank you for designing this chair. It is a blessing.
